NEW JERSEY Academy students' hard work pays off at Olympiad Clifton - They worked through their winter break. They put in time after school, studying and perfecting their projects. And now the Pioneer Academy of Science’s hard work has paid of at the state’s Science Olympiad competition. Taking first place for their “Storm the Castle” were Metin Fejzula and Chris Ghanny. Earning second place awards were Omer Bilici and Etka Kurucan can for “Bridge Building”; Youssef Ali and Eza Koch for “Mission Possible”; Elif Senalp and Asli Sahin for ”Wheeled Vehicle” and Youssef Ali and Eza Koch foe “Road Scalar”. Cagatay Uncu and Sarah Isaacs came in third place for “Disease Detectives” and Sera Gelgel and Shovanne Henry placed fourth for “Dynamic planet”. Fifth place honors went to Omer Bilici and Etka Kurucan for “Compute This” and Taha Teke and Botas Boke for “Rocks and Minerals.” Sixth place awarded to Sera Sere Gelgel and Shovanne Henry for “Awesome Aquifers” Taha Teke and Botas Boke for “Bottle Rocket” Kristen Luongo and Taha Teke for “Can’t Judge a Powder” and Elif Senalp and Asli Sahin for “Heredity”.
