This was all filmed in Greenvale within a 30 minute period on December 28th, 2008. One jet, often right behind one another, flying at low altitude. Greenvale has some of the worst jet noise, it's as bad as Cedarhurst and the 5 Towns area, but the only difference is that the 5 Towns are only a few miles away from JFK Airport, whereas Greenvale is nearly 15 miles away. Fortunately I live a bit further south in the Westbury area, where we have ocassional jet drone as well, though not as bad. It used to be the arrival flight pattern was over the ocean, which made perfect sense, but this was changed, and now there are more airplanes over our skies than ever. The noise is annoying for sure, but I worry about emergencies, as airplanes at lower altitude have less room for error, and a crash would surely kill hundreds, if not thousands on the ground. Also so many planes in our sky increases the chances for collision. Too bad the FAA wasn't thinking of that! They were more concerned with benefiting the airlines, than the safety of the public on the ground and in the air!
