Oct. 22: At a ceremony in Athens, Greece at the Temple of Hera, actresses in pagan gowns gathered to light the torch for the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games. Using a concave mirror, the “high priestesses” waited until the rays of sun beamed strong enough to cause a spark. (Countdown)
