Obama Reaffirms Positions on Mid-East Peace Talks, Jerusalem

U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has reaffirmed his position that Jerusalem will be the capital of Israel. However, Obama says Israelis and Palestinians will determine Jerusalem's final status, and that is not a matter for the United States to dictate. The Illinois senator spoke to reporters in Israel on July 23, 2008 as he continues his weeklong foreign trip. The Democrats' presumed nominee met with Isreaeli and Palestinian leaders.
