Obama's grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, has died
(NECN) - Barack Obama's grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, has died -- a day before the historic election. A couple of weeks ago, the Democratic candidate for president took a couple of days off the campaign trail to visit his ailing grandmother in Hawaii. Obama has often credited his grandmother for help in raising him. The Democratic presidential candidate announced the news in a joint statement with his sister Maya Soetoro-Ng. He said his grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, 86, had died peacefully after a battle with cancer. read more
