Teen pop star Nick Jonas captivates fans and journalists in a speech to raise awareness of juvenile diabetes. The 16-year-old singer, songwriter and member of pop trio the Jonas Bros, was speaking to a sold-out audience at the National Press Club, a venue often reserved for presidents, kings and chief executives. Jonas is taking time off his music duties to raise awareness and funding for juvenile diabetes, a disease he was diagnosed with in 2005. The youngest of the Jonas Bros also told the crowd "I've always had this dream of becoming president one day." He said it was "very cool" and "such an honor" to visit the White House earlier this year. The brothers made a surprise visit to President Barack Obama's daughters in January, and Nick Jonas met Obama in June as part of his diabetes efforts. Jonas humoured his captive audience, joking about how not being able to drink full-sugar Coke was his biggest shock when he was diagnosed as being diabetic. Asked whether he was single, he awkwardly told the audience he was but said he was inspired by his brother's love story. "Definitely, we always say the person we date we hope will be our biggest fan. My brother Kevin is engaged now and she's great for him. He met a wonderful girl from New Jersey, she's kind of a normal girl New Jersey girl who he fell in love with and it's great that's the kind of story that I'd love to have as well."
