NFL Kickoff Recap: Giants Beat Redskins 16-7

Recap of the first 2008 regular season NFL game. The Redskins played at Giants stadium and after scoring a TD right before halftime could not get past the Giants defense. All the scoring actually took place before halftime but both teams had long late drives. Eli Manning ran in the 1 Giants TD and then new kicker Carney sailed 3 FGs in a row. Other notable performances: Plax didn't score but he did prove that he'd earned his new 5 year, $11million in the first year contract by gaining 133 yards on 10 carries; Brandon Jacobs absolutely ran over Laron Landry and Fred Smoot (Smoot left the game and did not return) and picked up 116 yards. - NFL - New York Giants - Eli Manning - Plaxico Burress - Brandon Jacobs - John Carney
