PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (Hadrosaurus.com) -- Philadelphia Academy of Natural Sciences paleontologist Ted Daeschler explains why Hadrosaurus foulkii is such a historically important dinosaur. Discovered in 1858 in Haddonfield in Camden County, New Jersey, the fossil was the first nearly complete skeleton of a dinosaur found anywhere in the world. And, in 1868 it was the first dinosaur fossil mounted for public display anywhere in the world. It is the dinosaur that started our collective fascination with dinosaurs.
