MUSEEUM in Nijmegen is a unique place in the Netherlands where the ones who can see can learn about the world of the blind ones. You can learn and practice Braille alphabeth and you can practice walking with a white stick in pitch dark, complete with the blind guide. "Experience of seen and unseen" as it says under the name MU_SEE_UM. (Dutch: MUZIEUM). Museeum personell has realized kids who come here to practice Braille actually use Braille in their schools to write secret notes to each other, as none of the teachers knows how to read it. Janneke van Pelt explained to Reuters how the idea for Valentine Braille cards was born: "The children came to the MUSEEUM to plactice Braille and we found out they use it for making secret notes to each other. The teacher couldn't read it because it's not physical writing, you have to feel it, and we thought, hey, that's a good idea for Valentines cards, because they are most of the time secret messages." Museeum is open every day except monday.
