
(NECN) - The unemployment picture across New England has not gotten any brighter, and looks worse down the road. Unemployment in Rhode Island hit 9.3-percent in October -- tied for highest in the nation. The Labor Department said it could get even worse across New England by 2010. Rhode Island could see unemployment of 10.3-percent, a full point higher than recorded in October of this year. Vermont 6.9 percent forecast is topped by New Hampshire at 7.4-percent and the rest of the field -- Massachusetts, Connecticut and Maine -- sitting around 8.5-percent. read more
