The mother of a Matalan manager stabbed to death in a robbery has urged those who know the killers to come forward.Jamie Simpson, 33, died from a stab wound to the neck after he was attacked at a branch of the budget store chain in the Kingsland Shopping Centre, Hackney, east London.Police believe three men lying in wait in the shop set upon him in the cash office on Saturday evening as he was counting the day's takings.Matalan have offered a £40,000 reward for information as Mr Simpson's mother, Lorna Simpson, 52, made an emotional plea for help to find those who murdered her "wonderful son".She said: "Somebody must have a conscience and heart and come out and say who they are. Somebody must know who they are."I am just saying to them 'Look into your heart, look into your conscience. If it was your brother, your son, how would you feel if somebody had snapped the life of your child away'."Mrs Simpson, a teacher from Derby, added: "It's totally devastated my life. Saturday I was a normal person, today I don't know who I am. I am living hour by hour."Describing his death as "senseless", she said: "They could have hit him over the head. Why did they have to stab him? I can't for the life of me understand why."Detectives investigating the murder have released CCTV footage of three suspects wearing hoodies in the shopping centre.Anyone with information is asked to call the incident room on 0208 345 1585 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.© Independent Television News Limited 2008.
