"Money" persuaded Speaker DeLeo to approve interim Senator bill

(NECN) - Robert DeLeo, Speaker of the Massachusetts House joins Jim Braude on Broadside to talk about his agenda on Beacon Hill. DeLeo predicts a bill allowing expanded gambling and casinos in Massachusetts isn't likely to reach Governor Patrick's desk by year's end. DeLeo, who supported slot machines, only recently embraced resort casinos coming to the Bay State. He says the amount of jobs that would be created "tipped the scales". DeLeo says that although revenues may be down at New England casinos, they're still making money. read more
