Mikal - "Jane, Jane" preview [musician]

Originally from Detroit, transplanted to the Los Angeles music scene as a teenager, and now based in Boston, Mikal (pronounced michael) is an uncommon, modern pop/rock artist who doesn't subscribe to the common misconception that a solo artist must fall into the oft-cliche'd 'singer/songwriter' style that we have all grown used to. One of the great things about being a solo artist is the freedom that it brings, allowing the artist to write and perform however they choose. This comes across in the unique brand of melody-driven pop/rock that Mikal delivers in large doses. It is the ability to play an intimate and dimly lit show with an acoustic guitar and a string trio one night, then turn around and play a full out rock show the very next night that makes Mikal such an attraction to clubs and campuses across the US, Canada and the UK. Mikal has received 24 Detroit Music Award nominations, including 16 in one year, which has only been accomplished by one other artist. Mikal is a Taylor Artist (Taylor Guitars).
