MIDDLE EAST: Land right disputes in the Jordon Valley

When peace talks open on 27.11.2007, in the first serious attempt in 7 years to bring peace to the Middle East, one issue high on the agenda will be solving the problem of disputed land rights. For example, in the Jordan Valley on what was once Arab land, Palestinians are now being paid low wages to work for Israeli farmers harvesting dates. It is an arrangement that has had an impact in the UK, with two major supermarkets admitting that some of their dates have been mislabelled.
