The new ITV boss, Michael Grade, is already hinting at big changes for the schedule of Britain's biggest commercial TV station and has said he wants news back in prime time. ITV controversially axed News at Ten, after which it became known as News at When as it lost a fixed slot. It's now scheduled at 10.30, which is later than primetime. Grade is leaving a BBC which may be losing its battle for a real terms increase in the licence fee. A senior government source has said that the Chancellor is adamant any increase be below inflation.
