Marty Meehan officially inaugurated as Chancellor at UMass-Lowell
(NECN) - Although he has already been at work for a month, Friday marked the official inauguration of Marty Meehan as Chancellor of U-Mass-Lowell. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as well as dozens of other elected officials were there to honor the former Congressman. Pelosi described Meehan as an innovative thinker who fought tirelessly for campaign finance reform and won the battle against tobacco companies. Skills she says will be valuable in his new post. Meehan is already working to raise funds for a new technology and innovation center at the University.
