Many dead in China mudslides

Torrents of mud and rock hit near Chuxiong city in Yunnan province over the weekend, toppling or damaging nearly 1,000 houses. Scores of people are reported dead in neighbouring Vietnam, where torrential rains triggered flash flooding, leaving many areas under water. Eighteen people died in the capital Hanoi, which is suffering its worst flooding in more than two decades.
