(NECN: New York, N.Y.) - The Navy commissioned its newest assault ship, the USS New York, in ceremonies at a pier in New York City. The New York was built with tons of steel from the World Trade Center. The ship was decked in red, white and blue bunting for the occasion, which started with a moment of silence for those whose lives were lost on Sept. 11, 2001.
