Lunar probe launched

Lunar probe launched

Last night a capsule was launched from the Pacific Ocean’s Tanegashima Island by the first artificial Japanese satellite of the Moon. The satellite was called ‘Kayuga,’ after a princess from a Japanese fair-tales. The capsule consists of three parts; the main module will go round in the orbit of the Moon, 100 km far from the surface; it will be accompanied with smaller supporting satellites. ‘Kayuga’ is the most complicated equipment created for researching the Moon, except for the American ‘Apollo.’ The satellite will work for about a year, it will shoot the surface of the Moon, and it will study the influence of solar and electro-magnetic rays on the natural satellite of the Earth. Scientists need these data for revealing the mystery of the origin of the Moon, and for the description of its development. And in 2020 Japanese are planning to send a man to the Moon, and by 2025 to found a scientific-researching station there for astronauts.
