Lorenzo hit the Mexican coast as the weakest grade of hurricane, with 80 mph (130 kph) winds, around midnight (0500 GMT). Around 100,000 people living on the coast between the port city of Tuxpan and Nautla were evacuated to shelters ahead of the storm.
