Letters reveal family of Anne Frank sought escape to US
It was 1941, the Nazis had occupied much of northern Europe. One man, Otto Frank, was desperate to get his Jewish family in Amsterdam to the United States. The diary of his daughter - Anne - would become a testament to the plight of millions of jews. Now, extraordinary documents have been discovered which reveal how Otto tried to get a visa to travel to America.
