LEBANON: Rebuilding Beirut - money provided by Hezbollah

In the flattened, bombed out streets of south Beirut thousands of dollars in cash are being handed out to people whose homes were reduced to rubble by the Israeli bombing. The money's from Hezbollah, and they almost certainly got it from Iran. Wherever it came from, the cash is doing nothing to harm their popularity. The war, far from destroying Hezbollah, may be entrenching it still further in Lebanon.
