Thousands of Lebanese refugees headed home to south Lebanon on Tuesday (August 15) as a U.N. truce between Israel and Hizbollah held on into a second day and planning got under way for a beefed up U.N. force to deploy in the area. Refugees staying in schools of Sidon, which have been used as shelters for thousands of Lebanese fleeing from the southern region, were packing their belongings and trying to squeeze them all in to the cars. Ahead of their journey, refugees were given aid for the last time before heading to their new destination. "We have our belongings. We are going back to our land (village). We are going back." Some even had time to celebrate the cease fire with traditional dance. Traffic is still jammed in many roads due to the excessive refugee traffic, some NGO's provided water and other major supplies to refugees who needed to wait hours to pass through the bottlenecks, mostly around the bombed bridges.
