L.A. Graffiti Artists' Show: All Writes Reserved, 2 of 3

Between the three of these cats are nearly sixty years of gettin' up in Los Angeles -- city of the eternal buff, a place lorded over by Big Brother in the sky. Each person bought his own history to this show, and we were graced with narrative tales -- long histories of passion, loss, perseverance and the eternal need to express, no matter who gets it or doesn't get it. The personal accounts these gentleman shared with me made it difficult to edit and so what you have here is just raw interview footage. Interviews are being screened in alphabetical order, and vary in length. Together they form a fascinating and informative triptych of perspectives on the last twenty years of graffiti in Los Angeles. First up is Retna, who extemporaneously delivers an amazing, at times poignant, autobiography on the spot; in clip 2 Revoke talks about some of the early L.A. crews, and in clip 3 Saber looks at graffiti ethics and the significance of the global graf movement. Clips 2 and 3 sill be posted shortly.
