Joshua Freeman Music Video Reel 2007

A Washington DC native, Joshua Freeman moved to New York City several years ago to pursue a career in film production. Josh had an interest in filmmaking from a very early age leading to his involvement in many extra-curricular activities focused on film. He studied photography, screenwriting, journalism, editing, ENG and film theory before majoring in Film & Video Production at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. In his 6 years in New York, Josh has worked on nearly 100 different productions in every aspect of the film industry including 1st Assistant Directing several dozen features, shorts, commercials, and music videos. In 2004 Josh wrote, produced, directed, and edited his first short film “DEAD”. The short, a dark and humorous twist on the conventional horror film, was shot by award-winning director of photography Jon Fordham. Josh and Jon went on to create a number of music videos with various members of the famed rap organization Wu-Tang Clan, including Silkski’s “No Money”, Buddha Monk’s “Change Now Coming”, and Mr. Preach’s “Girlfriend”. Josh produced, directed, and edited all of these plus four more videos for the legendary rap group Brooklyn Zu, including “Boo Boo Cakes”, “Do It For”, “God Bless Da Child” and “Tribute”, a special dedication to their late mentor Ol’ Dirty Bastard. Recently Josh has directed a video for Brooklyn rap artist God Bless entitled “You Gotta Luv Me”. The video featured Bless’ underground rap group Coalition 9 and was shot by Josh and Jon’s longtime friend Adrian Richards. Josh is currently in pre-production on several short films set to shoot in the fall of 2007.
