Journalists are held accountable by a Code of Ethics and various other legislation as it seeks to inform and stimulate society. Media business' move online has seen an erosion of the essence of the ethical responsibility of journalism. If left unchecked, this erosion risks the decay of our social fabric – an effect which far outweighs the priority of advertising dollars.
