The James M. DuPont Meteorite Collection - (bulk composition, stage of destruction and structural and chemical alteration of different rock forming and accessory minerals, as well as secondary clay, etc. minerals), content of large number of main and trace elements in slightly destructed to strongly brecciated rocks and alterations of petrophysical properties (density, porosity, P-wave velocity, magnetic susceptibility, natural remanent magnetization) show that there exists a general impact-induced trend in composition and properties of impacted rocks within thc crater structure. The extent and shape of alteration zones estimated by a variety of methods are remarkably different. Thus the whole complexity of structural and compositional changes cannot be studied by any single method.
