Alabama Power Company has been wonderful to Camp ASCCA. They have, for instance, donated the land upon which ASCCA rests. So, we are particularly happy when they come back to visit for meetings and other activities. Last week, dozens of professionals from Alabama Power, conservationists, water experts, and numerous other interested parties came to camp for a few days to talk about Lake Martin Dam. This year marks the beginning of a five year federal and state relicensing process for Lake Martin Dam in Tallassee. ASCCA is pleased that Alabama Power has chosen camp to host many of these meetings during the coming five year process. We were fortunate to grab an interview with Jim Crew, Relicensing Project Manager for Alabama Power. In the video below, Jim speaks with us about his first trip to ASCCA, why they chose ASCCA for their meetings, the impact of seeing ASCCA in person and finally - about the relicensing process for the dam. ASCCA is available for corporate, government, business, church and other non-disability related groups whenever we have the space. Using ASCCA for these types of meetings and events helps ASCCA very much. By maximizing out facility’s usage, we keep costs down and can better serve more people with disabilities. So, please consider using camp for your next conference, meeting, retreat or event. Call 1-800 THE CAMP (in Alabama) or 1-256-825-9226 and ask for Matt Rickman.
