JibJab Media social expression business model sees growth

Author: Added: 06/27/2008 Duration:293.845 http://www.beet.tv/2008/06/jibjab-media-ma.html LOS ANGELES--JibJab Media, best known for its political parody This Land, played a major role in creating the viral video sensation. A year-and-a-half ago it expanded its business model and started competing with the e-card business, charging subscribers to share funny greeting videos. Evidently people are willing to pay for the service. JibJab's Sendables product lets subscribers insert themselves into e-card videos, and so far subscribers have created over 10 million personalized e-cards. JibJab expects to see considerable growth over the next sixth months as new technology makes their social expression content more widely available around the web and transforms JibJab from just a destination site. Andy interviewed Gregg Spiridellis at OnHollywood earlier this month. --Kelsey Blodget, Associate Producer
