Okay so sure, Sabres enforcer Andrew Peters does have a reputation for being an especially ornery agitator that never backs down, and during this play he clearly is right up in Ruutu's face. But, does that justify Ruutu (the player in red that Peters is front of) reaching out and taking a bite of Peters' hand? Peters claimed that Ruutu broke his skin while Ruutu stuck to the old strategy of deny-deny-deny saying: "Nothing happened there. His fingers were by my mouth but I didn't bite him." Peters was the one slapped with an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty (for starting the fight) while Ruutu wasn't penalized or punished at all. Peters Sabres went on to win the game 4-2.
