A male chihuahua in Odate, northern Japan has risen to stardom due to a unique pattern on his fur. A puppy named "Heart-kun" was born with a heart-shaped pattern on his coat. Heart-Kun was born on May 18 as one of a litter of puppies at the Pucchin Dog's shop. No make-up or modification has been added to the one-and-a-half-month old dog. The shop owner Emiko Sakurada said that this is the first time a puppy with these marks has been born out of over a 1,000 that she has bred. She says the unusual feature in the puppy has brought good luck to her and anyone who sees him. "Since Heart-kun was born, not only I but also many people who see him are getting luckier-- he has given us a lot of luck," said Sakurada. "It may sound strange but since I saw him, my luck has been picking up. I won the lottery and won a concert ticket. That must have been thanks to the power of Heart-kun," said Maki Matsuyama, Sakurada's sister who frequently visits the pet house and plays with the dog. "He is so small and cute when he wags his tail," said 4-year-old Arisa Kubo, one of the neighbors. Though many people have inquired about buying the dog from around the country after local television aired pictures of it, the owner says she has no plans to sell it.
