A suicide bombing in Israel has left three people dead, in the first such attack in over a year. The bomber blew himself up, killing an Israeli woman and wounding ten others in the blast at a shopping centre in the southern town of Dimona - a desert town where Israel's top-secret nuclear reactor is located.Police said they prevented a second blast by shooting dead an accomplice before he could detonate an explosives belt.Yossi Porianta, the police chief in Israel's southern Negev region, said: "The second terrorist was shot in the head as he tried to set off his bomb belt."Witness Rosa Enberg said: "It was like a war. People were running like crazy. I saw a piece of a human being right there, next to my leg."Another witness, a shop owner said: "We heard a big explosion, and people began running. I saw pieces of flesh flying in the air."A source in the Palestinian Fatah faction said the "Army of Palestine" wing of Fatah's al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades carried out the attack along with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).Two Palestinian militant groups, Hamas and Islamic Jihad, praised the attack as a blow against "Israeli occupation".The explosion raised speculation that a Palestinian militant from the Gaza Strip had infiltrated from nearby Egypt after Hamas Islamists blasted open the territory's border at Rafah late last month. It has since been resealed.A Palestinian suicide bomber last struck in Israel on January 29, 2007, killing three people in the southern resort town of Eilat, on the Red Sea.© Independent Television News Limited 2008.
