Israeli airstrike kills Palestinian

An Israeli military official said the strike was aimed at a group of militants firing rockets towards Israel. The strike comes a day after the end of a six-month ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. Hamas declared the end of the Egyptian brokered truce on Thursday (December 18). Since November, the truce has been eroded almost daily after an Israeli raid into Gaza prompted the firing of largely ineffective rockets into Israel.
