MC Hammer is probably more Islamic then the mean and small figures of the AKP! Some examples of AKP's financial Corruption: * Erdogan's announced properties before he became mayor in 1994: A flat in a very cheap Istanbul district, a flat in a cheap district, 356 m2 of land in another cheap district and 10 percent share of a minor company. After 7 years, Rahmi Koc, a Turkish tycoon who is neutral about Erdogan, announced that Erdogan collected 1 billion dollar. * During his mayor term, Erdogan declared that "his wage is not enough for his family." His son had his university degree in USA, thanks to a large scholarship. After 4 years, his son bought a cargo ship which worths around 2.5 million dollars. Erdogan defended his son that "It is a tiny ship." * AKP built 15.000 km of highways, worth 52 billion liras. They chopped the official bids into 219 pieces in order to bypass the investigation of the independent public comptroller agency. Plus, most of the asphalts are broken now and prosecutors can't do anything about it. * Minister of Finance, Kemal Unakitan (also a suspect in a fake bill case) , adjusted the tariff for corn production for the adventage of his own son in 2003. On April 17, corn tariff decreased from 45 percent to 20 percent. On August 4, Unakitan's son Abdullah imported 4000 tons of corn. On August 8, corn tariffs were reraised to 45 percent. He did a similar "public fraud" on added value tax on eggs for his son again. I can't even time and space to tell you in detail how he had 1000 percent profit in 19 months by buying and selling a property in Izmir in 19 months. * Erdogan negotiated with Turkish fraudster and profiteer, Halis Toprak, by taking him with a helicopter from Toprak's mansion, bringing him to his own villa. It is normal, because during AKP government, VIP lounges of Turkish airports were like second homes of frauds, too. * A touristic hotel, Antalya Deluxe Resort, is confiscated for 52 million dollars because its owner had got some debt to the state. The government sold it for 25 million dollars to a company which is close to local AKP office. * An ordinary company, Albayraklar, turned out to be a giant during the AKP term. How? For instance, the government sold the SEKA paper mill to them for 1.1 million dollars. After it is understood that the real value of the factory is 51 million dollars, a court has taken action. Albayraklar gave the factory back, but it has seen that over 12.7 million dollars of the property inside the factory is lost and nobody compensated it. * Pop-up companies appeared to win some bids for public services. A 2.1 billion dollars worth bid has been given to a week-old company. The company's owner was a former local chief of AKP. * Murat Aksu, the lawyer son of Minister of Interior Abdulkadir Aksu has been appointed by Turkish Horse Jockeys Club, after Minister Aksu opened an investigation AGAINST Turkish Horse Jockeys Club. Murat Aksu's wage as a counselor was 5000 dollars. * Minister of Education, Huseyin Celik, "won" the title of "the only minister whom a public agency demanded an graft investigation against him". 62 bids for 135 new schools to be built are found illegal in 2004. The government, unsurprisingly, dismissed the request of Public Bids Agency.
