Bomb explosions in in two separate neighbourhoods of Baghdad kill two people and wound two. In separate attacks, in two different neighbourhoods of Baghdad, one soldier and one civilian were killed and two others people were wounded. In Yarmouk, a suicide car bomb killed one Iraqi soldier and wounded a civilian near an Iraqi army checkpoint. An Iraqi soldier explains how he confronted the attacker. "We were on duty and the suicide bomber was driving a pickup truck there. I ordered him to stop but he did not, so I fired two bullets on him and when I approached him, he blew up the car," said an Iraqi soldier at checkpoint. The second attack, a bomb, went off in a market in the Shi'ite slum of Sadr City , killing one civilian and wounding another, witnesses and police sources said. They said that the bomb was placed under market stall. Earlier, a suicide car bomb in central Baghdad killed eight policemen and soldiers and wounded another 25 people, including many civilians, police said. Despite today's attacks, officials say that murders and executions in Baghdad have fallen sharply since a U.S.-backed security crackdown got underway a month ago, but U.S. commanders say car bombs in Baghdad, at a record high in February, remain a serious concern.
