
(NECN/ABC) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Saturday that Iran now possesses 6-thousand centrifuges - a significant increase in the number of uranium-enriching machines in its nuclear program, the semi-official Fars news agency reported. Ahmadinejad made the announcement during a weekly address to university professors in the northeastern city of Mashhad, the news agency reported. Iran declared in April that it was aiming to double the 3-thousand centrifuges it was running in its underground uranium enrichment plant in Natanz. read more
