Hurricane Wilma >>> North Fort Myers, Fl

By: Ian J. Hickin >> www.HurricaneChaseExtreme.com >> Hurricane Wilma struck South of Naples Florida. This is about 50 miles from North Fort Myers, the location in this video. We did not experience the full wrath of this storm, however, we did receive Hurricane force gusts. We were without power for about 5 days. After surviving the August heat following Hurricane Charlie, we were prepared with generators and small air conditioners. This storm was steered by a frontal boundary, this moved the storm further South away from us. The best effect of this boundary was the nice blast of fall weather immediately following the storm. I did not put music in this one as the audio track is pretty good. You can barely hear the roar of the winds. I have often been disappointed in the ability of audio recorders to capture that healthy throaty roar that is present in these storms. You hear the higher pitches, however, the lover range is virtually nonexistent. This roar is felt as much as heard and if you have not experienced it, it is hard to accurately explain it.
