Hungary break kissing record

Over 6,000 couples in Hungary locked lips simultaneously to break the world record for synchronised kissing.The event took place outside the country's parliament buildings in Budapest.The gamely participants managed to smash Manila's previous best attempt by a few hundred couples.A range of kissing styles were on display in the capital from intimate pecks to shameless slurping.Couples were asked to kiss for only ten seconds but many could not resist going on for a bit longer as fireworks were set off to celebrate the win.Many were happy for the light relief as Budapest's square had recently been cordoned off for months after seeing mass government protests.© Independent Television News Limited 2007.
