Hollywood Jonas [A Jonas Story] Part 9

[STORY HERE, BTW. :) Videos are not mine; No copyright infringement intended.] Thanks so much for reading; and to my subscribers & commenters: Thank you! A lot. Seriously, thanks. I loved the whole concert, right up until the encore. Nick announced that they were going to play a new song—and it just had to be mine. Or rather, Shane's song. They even credited me for it. Right then and there, I felt terrible. I kept on taking rewards for stuff I didn't deserve. So I made up my mind to tell the Jonas Brothers as soon as their concert was over. It just didn't feel right, taking all these prizes for something I didn't do. I caught up to Kevin as he left the stage with a bunch of instruments. Nick and Joe wanted to stay behind a few more minutes and greet a few fans, so Kevin offered to clean up. As soon as he put away the drumsticks, I approached him. "Hey, Kevin, I need to tell you something." Kevin carefully laid a guitar into its case. "Go ahead." I swallowed a moment. "Well, you see, about that song you guys sang tonight at the encore?" "Aw, man, that was great!" I heard Joe's voice drift through the curtain. "You really did good, Nick. Especially the feelings in 'S.O.S.'" "Thanks." I heard Nick reply. "I just don't like it when a girl lies to us, and then puts it off like it doesn't matter. It really annoys me—and it'll break my heart." I gulped. Wasn't that what I was doing? Kevin finished putting everything away, and straightened up. "Did you want to continue? About what you were telling me?" I chickened out then. I didn't know why, but I just felt so bad. So I just said, "You...you guys were great." The next day, I thought hanging out with Stephanie and Daniela would get my mind off my big lie. However, they had heard the new song (that I wrote) and were busy complimenting me on it. I just couldn't take it anymore—I've always been a very honest girl. I mean, Shane always taught me to be honest and never lie. If I was in a story, (Hey, I am![:) I would describe it as "drowning in a pool of lies." So the fourth time Stephanie asked me about the song I wrote, I snapped. "Guys, I didn't write the song!" Daniela paused for a moment. "What?" I took a deep breath. "It was really late, so I took it from my brother Shane's notebook. I only added in a few chorus parts and such." Stephanie's eyes widened, and she sucked in her breath. I thought she was looking past me, but I guess my eyes were just playing tricks on me. "Kelly..." I ignored her. I had to get all these lies out of my head. "I didn't want to disappoint Nick or any of the Jonas Brothers, so I copied some of Shane's work down. So, yeah, now—." Daniela shushed me. "Kelly!" she whispered, pointing behind me. "Turn around." I frowned. "What?" I obeyed, spinning around. My mouth dropped open. I knew I was in a lot of trouble. Nick Jonas was standing right behind me. My mind was in turmoil. Nick had just heard me explain everything to Stephanie and Daniela! I stood up quickly. "Nick—." Nick kept his eyes on the ground, but I saw that he was hurt. He shook his head. "I...I have to go." He said softly, and very quickly, hurried back to his house, where he was surrounded by the press. Despite all the cameras and microphones around us, I chased after him, shouldering my way to the rockstar. "Nick!" I grabbed his shoulder and pulled him out of the crowd, and he turned around. "Nick, it's not what you think!" "You lied to me, Kelly." He spoke, in a slightly stronger voice, although I could hear it trembling. "You lied to all of us." I was about to cut him off, but the word "lied" stopped my words. Nick continued in a shaky voice. "I really thought you were different. I really thought you wouldn't lie or cheat or anything to get to the Jonas Brothers." He looked up at me, and I met his eyes. Were there tears in his eyes? Had I really hurt him that bad? "But you did." I let my hand drop to my side. "No, but—." "I can't believe I even lik—." He cut himself off. I had no idea what he was about to say, but I knew that this time, he was really disappointed in me. A tear fell, and he quickly wiped it away. I had never actually seen Nick cry, except on stage. "Just...just don't talk to me anymore." He whispered, and left me, disappearing into the crowd of reporters behind us. Thankfully, the whole conversation was really quiet, so they couldn't pick it up on tape. Me, I cry.
