Meet Katie, who leads a gardening program at an extension high school in Claremont, CA, where at-risk students get a chance to grow their own veggies. By literally getting their hands dirty, the kids get reconnected to the natural environment and the true source of their food. Katie sees the school garden as a vehicle of empowerment, a way to grow relationships between kids from all walks of life.
