HEALTH: Enquiry into infected blood given to haemophiliacs

An independent public inquiry is to be held into the supply of contaminated NHS blood to haemophiliacs in the 1970s and 1980s. It will focus on the 1700 haemophiliacs who died after contracting HIV and hepatitis C from infected blood products. An independent investigation has been set up because the government ruled out a public inquiry.
