German hop growers can take heart, because their crops are more in demand than ever. Beer is increasing, not in Germany, but elsewhere in the world, especially in China and Eastern Europe. And brewers need hops to give their beer the true flavor. Hop prices have almost doubled in recent years, thanks to increased demand and poor harvests. Weather conditions just before harvest are crucial to the quality and amount. Growers in Hallertau, one of the world's biggest hop growing areas, are optimistic. Report by Dagmar Zindel.
