Government takes notice of Montessori teaching method

Bournemouth primary school students may be missing out. A major report last week to ministers called for radical reforms to state school teaching. It's recommended that learning be "personalised" for each child. The Montessori method is based on this personal teaching style and a second primary school in Essex is adopting this method. This is after a successful project introduced Montessori at a tough Manchester primary school -- backed by £40,000 in government money. But there are no plans for state funded Montessori primary schools in Bournemouth.
