
(NECN: Josh Brogadir, Boston, Mass.) - The largest union representing Boston Globe employees has narrowly rejected a new contract that includes $10 million in concessions. The New York Times Company has said if the contract was rejected, it would try to impose a steeper pay cut, or even close the Globe altogether. The Boston Newspaper Guild voted 277-265 to reject the company's contract offer, which included an 8.3 percent wage cut, five-day unpaid furloughs and cuts in health care benefits, 401(k) contributions and pensions. read more
