Girl mauled to death by pit bull terrier

5-year-old girl, Ellie Lawrenson, was mauled to death early yesterday morning by an adult pitbull terrier-type dog called Reuben despite desperate attempts by her grandmother to save her. The dog's owner - Ellie's uncle - had been officially warned about his pet's behaviour, by St Helen's council, in June last year.
