Still Life is a surreal creation that portrays the torment and confusion encountered by someone inflicting self harm. By creating two separate three minute films we were able to illustrate two differing views of the same moment of crisis. The first film focuses on the illusion of the mind, how psychologically we all experience moments of internal conflicts with ourselves and aspects of our emotions try taking pre-eminence over the physical situation. Each character within this film portrays a different emotional element of the same person. The narrative does not follow a linear progression but rather jumps from character to character adding to the confusing dreamlike sequence of events. The second film focuses on the reality of reactions from people on the outside. How people try to solve a problem or comprehend what has happened. How people react when they discover that someone they love is harming themselves. This film is full of metaphorical symbolism that illustrates the struggle that all people go through and the decisions that we all make.
