FRANCE: Secret documents show that in 1950s Britain and France considered a 'union'

Formerly secret documents found in the National Archives have showed that Britain and France considered a 'union' in the 1950s. On 10 September 1956 French Prime Minister Guy Mollet arrived in London for talks with then British Prime Minister Anthony Eden.
