Legendary actress Jodie Foster demonstrates her softer side in new film Nim's Island.The Hollywood star is well known for her portrayal of more serious characters in heavy duty dramas such as The Silence of the Lambs or The Accused.But now Foster is glad to be showing off her funnier side - rarely seen onscreen.She said: "First of all I just wanted to show a lighter side of myself, I'd done a lot of dark dramas back-to-back, so I'm just psyched by being able to be challenged by something different. And I'm a really light person."The Oscar-winning actress teams up with 12-year-old Abigail Breslin, star of Little Miss Sunshine and 300 star Gerard Butler.Nim's Island opens in the US in April and jumps across the pond shortly after.© Independent Television News Limited 2008.
