The new Sunderland manager, Roy Keane, has promised the club plenty of his famous commitment but perhaps a little more control. Hosting his first press conference he admitted his passion had cost him a World Cup run with the Irish Republic and perhaps his career at Manchester United. Now, he said, it was about balance.
