Foot and mouth disease: Seventh case confirmed in Surrey

A seventh case of foot and mouth disease has been confirmed in livestock in Surrey The latest herd to be culled were from a farm in Englefield Green after positive tests on Monday 24th September 2007. The outbreak is still limited to Surrey after tests in Hampshire and West Sussex proved negative and restrictions in those counties lifted. All seven cases are within the original protection zone that covers the area round Egham, Weybridge and Woking. Farms are under surveillance in a zone stretching from Windsor to Twickenham and down to Guildford.
